Arzula C. Johnson
Arzula Carter Johnson a native of Wilcox County, was born to and raised by the parents of the late Thomas Carter, Sr. and Rosie Powell Carter in the community of Sand Hill. Mrs. Arzula graduated from the Snow Hill Institute. Still residing in the Rosebud Community, Mrs. Arzula is married to Roosevelt C. Johnson of 46 years. After raising two children, Mrs. Arzula attended Concordia College of Selma and received her Associate of Arts Degree in 1991.
While living in the Rosebud Community, Mrs. Arzula help organized the Rosebud Action Community Center, Inc. Mrs. Arzula has served as President for 10 years and then vice-president of The First Union District Woman Convention for 25 years. Presently, she serves as Matron of Locke Pride Chapter #850 O.E.S., president of “The Farmers Mutual Aid and Burial Society”, and as board member- at- large of the National Council of The Negro Woman Inc., The Wilcox County Section. Mrs. Arzula is a member of the Rosebud A.M.E. Church.
