Amanda Barnes
With a chemical engineering degree and an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama, a passion for community service, and a professional background focused on operational, and strategic planning, Amanda Barnes brings a unique perspective to the fundraising profession.
Her experience in the for-profit business sector, with Mercedes Benz and The HEIL Company, gave Amanda a sharp eye for operational efficiency, and she wields it with good humor in the ongoing pursuit of excellence. During her tenure with Dini Partners, a national management and fundraising consulting firm, Amanda was able to work with a wide variety of clients. From the formation of a large, worldwide organization, such as the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s LiveStrong Young Adult Alliance, to a first ever $1.5 million capital campaign for the Gillespie County Historical Society in Fredericksburg, Texas, her efforts remind her that personal relationships are at the heart of every successful nonprofit venture..
As the newest member of the Black Belt Community Foundation’s team, Amanda looks forward to the opportunity to impact the local community with her passion for philanthropy.
An avid reader and strong believer in lifelong learning, Amanda is most likely to start a conversation with “I was just reading the other day…” Outside of the office and the library, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband John David (an ordained Episcopal priest) and their two sons, Joseph and Samuel in the beautiful community of Demopolis, Alabama.
